Seldom are vacation spots built for both elders and kids. It is more likely that the vacation spot either tends to cater to kids or to adults alone; never to both. Some may go to the extent of providing options but such options have rarely satisfied the intended audience. All in all, either the kids end up being dragged along to places of no interest to them or the adults end up spending their vacation traversing from one kiddy vacation spot to another. Boredom indeed!

One such place that caters to the interest of both adults and kids is Memphis, Tennessee. It’s a true family vacation spot that ensures that both the adults and the kids get their load of fun and enjoyment. Whether it is the outdoor activities such as hiking and biking that the family is into or park rides, there is plenty of variety that ensures that adults and kids get to enjoy a good holiday.

Children and parents alike will love taking a ride down the mighty Mississippi River using the River Walk. Visitors are treated to the rare pleasure of following this major river upstream and it is sure to be an adventure that they will cherish for the rest of their lives.

If you are a history buff, you will fall in love with the sheer possibilities that a trip to Memphis offers its visitors. You can have a look at the Memphis Belle, the infamous bomber. A visit to this historic and vibrant city will bring back scenes from the Hollywood movie called Memphis Belle to your mind.

And then, of course, there is all the magic and history that is and surrounds the mighty Graceland. Yes, this mansion was indeed made famous by Elvis Presley and has been preserved exactly as it was when the King was still alive. Millions of fans make the pilgrimage to Graceland every year with many taking part in the yearly candlelight vigil held on August 16th—the anniversary of the King's death.

The Peabody Hotel is certainly a place that both adults and children should find entertaining when they visit Memphis. The famous hotel is home to a group of famous ducks who call the roof of the hotel their home. Every morning round 10 these spoiled ducks actually take an elevator ride down to the grounds so that they can feed. The hotel is not just a hot spot for the ducks and tourists because even local big shots tend to make several visits out to the hotel every year for one reason or another.

The Libertyland Amusement Park is a great attraction for the children. The adults can find other forms of entertainment close by. It is known for its vintage 1909 carousel. In addition, it offers visitors lots of midway games, rides, and shows that take place there each night. The Children's Museum of Memphis also offers a host of entertaining and educational activities to keep children entertained. It is a great option when the weather is not conducive for a visit to the park.

The list would go on. There is so much about Memphis that it makes one of the rare places that provide something entertaining and exiting to adults and children. In fact the locations are so many that it’s worth your while to plan your vacation based on just some of the places or events you would like to cover in this vacation and spare some for the next time. And believe me, there will be a next time!
